Here at My Local Dentists West Ryde, we are dedicated to providing you with the personalised service you and your family deserve. We are a team of highly motivated and accredited practitioners with graduate degrees from the University of Sydney.
Like the dentists, the supporting staff at My Local Dentists West Ryde is highly dedicated and experienced to ensure each visit with us is as comfortable as possible. We routinely attend additional training courses to learn and provide better ways to cater to our patient’s needs.
We firmly believe that prevention is key to a beautiful and healthy smile. So, we will do everything we can to minimise barriers to visiting the dentist. To achieve this, we do not charge a gap payment for new patients from any health fund for preventative services, and this includes your 6 monthly check-ups, scale and cleans, check-up X-rays, intraoral photos, personalised treatment plans and fluoride treatments. To ensure we look after everybody, if you are not in a health fund, we will do your 6 monthly checks and clean, X-rays and fluoride treatments.
Prevention is not only limited to treating your gums and your teeth. We also believe in early intervention orthopaedic and orthodontic treatments, focusing on maximising jaw development to ensure ideal joint relationships for the jaws. In doing this, early intervention decreases the chance of needing invasive orthodontic treatment at a later stage and increases airways.
All the equipment and materials used in our practice are high quality and from reputable brands and companies.
Strict infection control protocols are correctly followed under the Australia Dental Association guidelines to create a safe environment to visit and work in.
To make your appointment with us more accessible, we have HICAPS available – if you are in a private health fund, we are able to claim on the spot for you. You just need to bring your health fund card to your appointment.

Dr Alice Im - General Dentist
Dr Alice Im graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in The Bachelor of Dentistry (Honours) and The Bachelor of Advanced Science.
Having graduated from Dentistry Dr Im spent 4 years working in the South Coast serving the Shoalhaven region where she performed a vast range of dental treatments, from general and cosmetic dentistry to full mouth rehabilitations.
She enjoys treating all ages groups and working closely with her local community to provide quality family care.
Dr Thomas Choi - B.PHARM (SYD UNI.) B.DENT (HONS) (SYD UNI)
Dr Thomas Choi has graduated from both The Bachelor of Pharmacy, and The Bachelor of Dentistry (Hons) at the University of Sydney. He is dedicated in not only ensuring you have a healthy and beautiful smile, but helping to support and grow the local community.
Dr Choi enjoys working with all age groups, and treating your whole family with up to date professional service and care. Although he firmly believes prevention is better than a cure.
Dr Yun Wu - General Dentist
Dr Yun Wu is passionate about providing exceptional care for her patients. Her sunny disposition and gentle demeaner has helped many anxious patients and she excels at making any treatment a comfortable and positive experience.
Dr Wu grew up in Brisbane, working as a hospital clinical pharmacist before moving to Sydney to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Sydney University.
She was awarded prizes for academic excellence and advanced her skills through undertaking externships at UCLA and Columbia University in the United States.
Dr Wu enjoys all areas of dentistry but has a keen interest in treating children. She places strong emphasis on continuing education and is currently completing the IAAD orthopedic/orthodontic course to treat teeth and jaw alignment. Outside of dentistry, Dr Yun enjoys running, pilates, food and travelling.
Dr Adam Roach - General Dentist
Dr Adam Roach graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Dental Sciences.
He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to deliver high quality dental outcomes for all his patients, whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.
Dr Roach likes working with children and adults of all ages and is particularly interested in preventative care and conservative management of teeth.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Roach enjoys surfing and going to the beach whenever he has the chance.
