About our practice
Dr Chris Oosthuizen is a Specialist ENT, Head and Neck surgeon with a wealth of both local and international experience. He has a special interest in all aspects of Paediatric ENT and advanced expertise in Rhinoplasty and Sinus Surgery.
He has trained at leading institutions in South Africa, Ireland and Australia. He has been awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) as well as the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and is registered as a specialist in both Ireland and Australia. Following his specialist training he undertook a further year of advanced training in Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery. During this time, he gained invaluable experience in the management of all nasal and sinus conditions, including functional Rhinoplasty procedures.
He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland Medical School and is actively involved in the teaching, training and supervision of medical students, junior doctors and training registrars. He has a keen interest in research and has been involved in several research projects culminating in multiple publications and presentations on both a national and international stage.
Dr Oosthuizen has established and chairs the Thyroid Multidisciplinary Team meeting (MDT) at Ipswich Hospital and is also a member of the Head and Neck Oncology MDT at Ipswich Hospital.
