About our practice

We are a small group of psychologists committed to the highest levels of support for our clientele. Our psychologists believe in a holistic approach to therapy, taking into account all aspects of a person’s life, including their emotional, physical, and mental health. We understand that everyone has unique experiences and needs, and we work closely with our clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific treatment.

Our clinic’s psychologists are highly trained and experienced in a wide range of specialties, including but not limited to: individual therapy, couples therapy(Gottman Method for Couples), family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, substance abuse, LGBQTI+ issues, aged care, and others. They regularly attend continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest research and treatments in their field.

We accept a variety of payment options to make therapy accessible to as many people as possible. In addition to standard session fees, we accept Medicare plans(with gap payment), DVA for Gold and White card holders, and private health funds.

We are located in a convenient and accessible location, with beautiful Henley Beach Square just a short walk away. Our clinic has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, designed to provide a comfortable and safe space for clients to receive support. Our focus is to offer a peaceful, secure, and private environment where individuals can feel relaxed and at ease as they work towards their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Dr Julee La Mott - Clinical Director

Female - English Education: Doctorate, University of La Verne(USA)
Dr Julee La Mott is a Clinical Psychologist who trained and practiced in the United States before moving here to Adelaide in 2018. Dr La Mott is the acting Clinical Director for SA Psychology & Wellness.

Prior to moving to Australia, she ran her own private practice after several years working in medical settings, community mental health clinics, university counselling centres, and academic settings. She provides individual, family, and couples therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She is skilled at working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief and loss, relationship issues, eating disorders, recent trauma as well as complex trauma.

Dr La Mott is warm, attentive, and understanding. She strives to provide a safe place for clients to explore thoughts, feelings, relationships, and personal experiences. She takes a collaborative approach to therapy and enjoys coming alongside clients to assist them with making lasting changes. Julee is patient and engaging and often uses humour in therapy.

Dr La Mott also has extensive experience conducting psychoeducational, neuropsychological, and psychological evaluations. Her vast professional experiences have prepared her to work with a myriad of clientele presenting at varying stages in their current struggle. Julee uses various treatment modalities to treat the unique needs of each client and places great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.

Christine Kaye - Psychologist

Christine Kaye is a registered psychologist with a master’s degree in clinical psychology from The University of Queensland. With over 10 years of experience, Christine has developed a skillset to support different clinical settings including child protection, schools, complex trauma centres, not for profit organisations, consulting roles and private practice. Christine enjoys working across the lifespan and is experienced working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Depression, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, mood disorders e.g., bipolar disorder, ADHD and personality disorders are just some of the presentations that Christine has vast experiencing working with. Christine has a special expertise in assisting patients presenting with self-harm, suicidality, complex trauma, particularly from abuse and domestic violence.
With a strong focus on brain functioning, Christine often weaves elements of neuropsychology into the therapy room. Christine also brings a keen interest in providing learning assessments for both adults and children to the SAP&W practice. Christine dedicates a day each week to providing psychoeducational assessments.
Passionate about lifelong learning and cultivating a growth mindset in others, Christine has previously taken on leadership roles in providing supervision to other professionals and as a clinical lead responsible for the strategy and implementation of clinical governance.

Dr Petra Becker - Counselling Psychologist

Dr Petra Becker is a Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in private practice and extensive training in a wide range of therapeutic approaches.

Petra’s treatment approach is based on recognising the strengths and resources of clients at all levels of psychological functioning. She works collaboratively with her clients to ascertain what they want out of life and provides strategies and assistance to achieve their goals. Petra uses a humanistic treatment model that views emotions as centrally important in human functioning and therapeutic change. Her focus is broad and includes all aspects of a client’s life including work and home life. This approach allows her to focus on ways to assist the client to feel better about themselves and to strive for a meaningful and fulfilling life. Petra will recommend positive and healthy self-management strategies as well as provide a space for reflection, insights and change. The appeal of working in this way is that it maximises effectiveness across a range of clinical conditions in both brief or long-term therapy.

Lidia Tagliabue - Psychologist

Lidia is an outgoing and enthusiastic early career psychologist who strongly believes every person deserves to have a dedicated therapist by their side. Lidia takes a holistic approach to psychological treatment, which means she looks at the body-mind-soul connection that informs much of the trauma work and healing she delivers. She understands that access to mental health support can be challenging but her non-judgemental and understanding nature allows her to empathise deeply without being afraid to gently challenge clients to explore their deeper selves when feeling safe to do so.

Lidia’s academic and professional training has taken her from Adelaide to Townsville, all the way down to Tasmania where her passion for child and adolescent therapy established whilst working in rural and remote communities. Lidia has provided psychological treatment in community settings, private practice, and school settings. Lidia has extensive experience with complex mental health and suicidality, employment assistance programs and unemployment, perinatal mental health, NDIS, workers compensation, Tasmanian Police Force and first responders.

There are many different modalities Lidia uses within therapy, including techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Play Therapy alongside many other treatments.

Karen Osborne - Clinical Psychologist

Female - English
With Master’s degrees in both Clinical and Organisational Psychology, Karen Osborne holds dual AHPRA and APS recognised endorsements in clinical and organisational psychology. This background can add value when working with individuals who have had a challenging time at work, or who are navigating difficult work transitions and therefore are struggling or distressed. Having worked as a registered psychologist in private practice for 12 years, Karen has expertise in counselling and clinical interventions for individuals from adolescents to all stages of adult life. In addition, she has a depth of experience in the workplace impacts on mental health, resolution of interpersonal conflict, and corporate training and development on topics related to well-being and interpersonal communication.

Having made empathy in therapy the focus of a Master’s Thesis, Karen knows the importance of bringing unconditional compassion and understanding to the therapeutic relationship. She offers a warm, gentle and encouraging approach to building rapport from the first impression, and people find this makes it easy to tell their story and establish a collaborative relationship. Karen then brings humanity, sensitivity and humour to the task of making sense of and addressing problems through an individualised treatment plan.
