3 times I’ve tried to engage with Dr Boyce. The first time, she could not have looked less interested in being there and was quite dismissive.
The second time, she arrived 20 minutes late to work, provided no apology or explanation to patients and I had to cancel the appointment as I had to get to work and get my child back to school. Totally unprofessional.
The last time was 2 days ago. I bought my daughter in and, there was no other time for it to be done so I had to take it. Again, Dr Boyce could not have looked any less interested in being at work. She asked questions of my daughter and barely gave her time to respond before asking quite leading questions to get her to answer. My daughter was left telling her what she thought Dr Boyce wanted to hear. She had a terrible cough which I knew was bronchitis given my own history and that of my daughter’s, but she wrote it off as simply a cold, despite a temp. She listened to her chest and didn’t hear anything, despite the obvious wheezing and difficulty breathing. She only told me to treat her with cold and flu medicine and return if she wasn’t better in a few days.
well, she’s not better so I took her to another doctor who actually listened to my daughter, didn’t have a vested interest in a quick outcome, actually seemed engaged with her job and thorough in her assessment. Turns out, not only did my daughter have bronchitis, but also asthma. Instead of only missing 1 day of school, thanks to Dr Boyce, she has now missed 3 and could have been treated sooner and on the road to cover 2 days ago. Never again will I engage with her.
